Quality Inspection

One of the most important aspects of maintaining a precision machine shop is being able to inspect and verify the close tolerances needed. At Multax, we have state-of-the-art inspection Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) capable of measuring all machining operations.

  • The largest of our CMMs, the DEA Ghibli was purchased in 1997 and has a measuring capacity of 60” x 102” x 55”. This machine is Direct Computer Controlled. The Ghibli uses two Renishaw probe racks and runs using Brown & Sharpe software and PC DMIS.

  • The Brown & Sharpe XCEL 12-20-10 can measure 48” x 80” x 40”. Purchased in 1989 the Xcel uses two Renishaw probe racks and runs on Brown & Sharpe software and PC DMIS.

  • The Starrett Manual CMM uses Renishaw probes, PC DMIS software, and measure 40" x 40” x 24”.

In addition to the Coordinate Measuring Machines, we have over 1,000 hand and optical gages within the calibration system.  Included are ultrasonic inspection capabilities, optical comparators, surface testing equipment, hardness testing equipment and numerous hand gages.
